Homeschooling activities for the fall
Mark Your Calendars!!
There are some exciting opportunities for the homeschooling community starting in September. Beginning Wednesday, September 23rd for 8 weeks (no classes Nov. 11th) and finishing on November 18th, art and choir will be offered each Wednesday at Allison Community Church.
ART LESSONS
TEACHER - Dawn Campbell
Dawn would like to focus on developing drawing skills for the students and would like to encourage Art lessons to be incorporated into regular homeschool assignments.
Classes will be divided up as follows:
Grades K-2 : 1:00-2:00
3-5: 2:00-3:00
6 and up - 3:00-4:00
Dawn requires that the older students in grades 6 and up have a real interest in developing their art skills as well as a desire to participate.
Cost: $5.00/week=$40.00 per child
CHOIR
TEACHER - Doris Sabean
Doris is planning on working on Christmas music for a performance of music at a Christmas tea or dinner (Details to follow) She hopes to have two choirs (dependent on numbers)
Grades 3-5 from 1:00-2:00
6 and up - from 2:00-3:00
If there are not enough students to run two choirs, then we will have one choir and the time will be from 1:00-2:00. The minimum number of students is 10, making the maximum price per child $4.00/week =$32.00; but we hope that based on more students, the price will drop.
MOTHERS IN TOUCH
During the 2:00-3:00 time period there will be an organized time of prayer. We want to encourage moms in this daunting and rewarding call to homeschool our children and know sharing and prayer is a powerful tool. If possible, plan to attend. Moms with children who need to be supervised will need to set up a rotation of mothers to watch their children during this time.
All families are required to pay a $5.00 fee (for the entire 8 weeks) for the facility use.
All monies are to be paid the first week of classes.
To sign up for art please email Judith Forsythe at jerryandjudith@rogers.com
To sign up for choir please email Rachael MacCabe at rmaccabe@nb.sympatico.ca
Any questions contact Judith, Rachael, or Krista Lutes at rklutes@rogers.com
Please note that the cut off date for signing up your students for art and/or choir is September 2nd.
We look forward to seeing you there!!
